During a recent visit to the West Midlands to get 0238's destinations sorted we visited Coventry, Daventry and Sutton Coalfield. Here are some pics!

Currently Arriva are making a massive fleet investment in quality new vehicles for the North West fleet, most depots receiving new vehicles. Look out for them on your local Arriva route!!

Pictures of the Arriva Green Lane fleet. This gallery includes pictures of some Neoplan buses, which are due for withdrawal very soon, some have left the fleet to the Stafford bus centre, others are in the process of acting as christmas trees to keep the fleet on the road!

201 bus group held an informal get together at Hooton Airfield and a mini running day was operated using a variety of preserved vehicles. Thanks to John Nolan and co for welcoming us and even providing us with a piece of birthday cake!!

A few pictures from the 3rd annual MTT running day. I was busy driving 1055 on 35 route, hence why I havent taken as many pictues as previously! Thanks go to Royal Bank of Scotland, Merseytravel, Arriva and Merseyrail Electrics for supporting the event, and special thanks to Stagecoach Merseyside who braught former Merseybus Olympian 0238 and Dart VKB 708!

Freshly restored Leyland Tiger cub, former Liverpool Corporation XL171, SKB 168 features here. The vehicle is owned by the Merseyside Transport Trust and restored with the very generous assistance of Arriva north west and wales. She looks fantastic!!

A new folder of photographs of vehicles based at Liverpool Speke Garage, more Speke vehicles can be found in the Arriva collection. Speke garage was opened by Liverpool Corporation in 1957 and passed to Merseyside PTE on its formation in 1969, then at dereg became a Merseybus garage and closed in 1991, then Merseyrider MTL's low cost unit moved in until 26th Aug 1996 when the Merseybus Garston operation was merged and Garston Closed. Speke became an Arriva garage in Feb 00 and is currently one of Arriva's biggest depots outside London.

N&U Travel is a small firm based in South Liverpool run by my good friend Dr Michael Collingwood. A small but very smart fleet of mercedes minibuses is operated plus a superb ex Maynes Leyland Leopard with a duple rebody. What a beast! N and U can be contacted on 07789 333905.

Pictures from the Leyland PD2 day held at the Manchester Museum of Transport. L255 attended and performed excellently throughout the day.

A few pics from the 2007 Wirral Bus and Tram show. This local event is held annually and well worth supporting. Arriva Merseyside B7/Alexander 4120 and Scania 2063 and my own 1055 attended together. 1055 was used on the shuttle service during the day hence I didnt take as many pictures as usual!

On 9th September 07, The MTT held its second running day, very kindly supported by Merseytravel, Royal Bank of Scotland and Arriva Speke. The event was a runaway success.... here are some of the pictures!

The Merseyside Transport Trust, as in previous years, was tasked to provide the park and ride service at the excellent Woodvale Rally this year. The MTT vehicles in attendance looked and performed excellently! L501 had an electrical fault and was towed by Johnsons back to Burscough. A superb weekend, MTT members worked hard as usual and its fair to say we all enjoyed ourselves! Well done lads

On Sunday 8th July 2007, Arriva Speke Garage celebrated its 50th birthday. Buses from The MTT attended to mark the event. A267 was brand new to Speke on its opening in 1957 and was posed around various spots in the garage, to recreate the official LCPT photographs depot photographs. Speke depot was opened by Liverpool Corporation then in 1969 contol passed to MPTE, deregulation in 1986 saw Speke pass to the newly formed Merseybus company. In 1991 Speke closed down and vehicles were transfered to nearby Garston. In 1994 MTL's low cost Merseyrider unit moved into the dormant garage and on 26th Aug 1996 Garston closed for good and the operation was merged into Speke, becoming a proper Merseybus garage again. In Feb 2000 Arriva purchased MTL Trust Holdings Ltd and Speke became one of Arriva's biggest garages and in recent years the depot has expanded again taking land for an open air parking area at the side. Several vehicles were lined up for photographs to mark the date and the vehicles were very well received by depot staff. A nice touch was the destination display on 4100. A very big thanks to the lads at Arriva Speke (you know who you are) and fellow MTT members for making this day possible, cheers lads!

2007 is a busy year for the MTT with buses attending many key events in the City of Liverpool as well as local bus rallies. This weekend saw 1111 and A267 visit Speke depot, A267 at the lord mayors parade and 1055, L501 and A267 attending the excellent open day at St Helens Transport museum... an action packed year ahead. This gallery will illustrate it and will be updated on a regular basis!

Arriva Speke Garage 2716 is painted in a livery promoting streetsafe for Merseyside Police. It was out on night bus 86's last week and I could'nt resist a photo opportunity! Thanks to Mark Owens for his assistance with this!

Pictures from several recent visits to Halifax. The fleet of Halifax Joint Comittee is superb! Lots of intrest for the enthusiast and even home to ex Merseybus Garston Leyland Olympian 0234....

Following a recent tour of small operators in Kent, thanks to Andy Barnes, the following ex MTL Titans were found. 2122 (T122) is now preserved by Andy and is being repainted into MTL livery. Nice!

22nd October 2006, Merseyside Transport Trust held a vehicle running day to celebrate 20 years since deregulation. The event was a great success and the 2007 running day is to be held on 9th September, see you there!

Metrobus M1364, a former London General bus is now used as a community vehicle by the Metropolitan Police and Hounslow Borough council and has been extensivly refurbished. The vehicle is looked after and maintained by London United, now known as Transdev. The Met also have a former London United Airbus Metrobus, pics of which will appera on here when I dig them out!

Pictures from Saturday 4th Febuary 2006, when the final Leyland Titans bowed out of regular service with Stagecoach. The Titan has served Liverpool well since the first examples landed with Merseybus back in 1992. Stagecoach did us proud again and £145 was raised for Mc Millan nurses, thanks go to all involved for a fantastic days bashing!
