This bus looks and sounds fantastic! L255, one of the highlights of my day! Arriva Speke kindly braught one of their impressive new Volvo B7 buses, to help show the difference between old and new! The MTT vehicles in attendance looked and performed excellently! L501 had an electrical fault and was towed by Johnsons back to Burscough. A superb weekend, MTT members worked hard as usual and its fair to say we all enjoyed ourselves! Shanks on 1551 1551 on park and ride duties, Woodvale Rally 2007 1055 and 1032 rest inbetween Woodvale Park and ride duties 1055 and 1032 Livrpool Coropration liveried Atlantean L501 in company with AEC regent A267 at Woodvale 2007 L835 awaits her next trip along with 1111 and 1032 1836 in verona green at Woodvale 2007 The excellent Johnsons ERF wrecker, recovering L501 Shanks supervising the towing! The excellent 6036 plying her trade on the car park shuttle service at Woodvale. 1003 made an appearance to assist on the Sunday at Woodvale. This bus is owned by Terry Morris and looks superb in her post dereg Merseybus livery. 1551 as always is a popular bus at Woodvale and the weather stayed good! It's a dogs life! Shankly watching passengers alight 6036 and L835 1055 1111 and 1032, contrasting liveries. Verona rules! 6036, 1003 and 1836 all looking superb! L835 made her first public outing since 1990 at Woodvale and performed faultlessly. This bus has been restored to a very high standard by MTT members and is a credit to them. What a line up! Only the MTT can do this! Members pulled out all the stops as always and made the weekend a success. Well done to all involved. A267 heads the line up of MTT vehicles involved in the 2007 woodvale rally. L501 was there in spirit!

]]> Mon Aug 6 2007 Speke depot 50th birthday http://james2355.fotopic.net/c1321562.html On Sunday 8th July 2007, Arriva Speke Garage celebrated its 50th birthday. Buses from The MTT attended to mark the event. A267 was brand new to Speke on its opening in 1957 and was posed around various spots in the garage, to recreate the official LCPT photographs depot photographs. Speke depot was opened by Liverpool Corporation then in 1969 contol passed to MPTE, deregulation in 1986 saw Speke pass to the newly formed Merseybus company. In 1991 Speke closed down and vehicles were transfered to nearby Garston. In 1994 MTL's low cost Merseyrider unit moved into the dormant garage and on 26th Aug 1996 Garston closed for good and the operation was merged into Speke, becoming a proper Merseybus garage again. In Feb 2000 Arriva purchased MTL Trust Holdings Ltd and Speke became one of Arriva's biggest garages and in recent years the depot has expanded again taking land for an open air parking area at the side. Several vehicles were lined up for photographs to mark the date and the vehicles were very well received by depot staff. A nice touch was the destination display on 4100. A very big thanks to the lads at Arriva Speke (you know who you are) and fellow MTT members for making this day possible, cheers lads! Sunday 8 July 2007: On Sunday 8th July 2007, Arriva Speke Garage celebrated its 50th birthday. Buses from The MTT attended to mark the event. A267 was brand new to Speke on its opening in 1957 and was posed around various spots in the garage, to recreate the official LCPT photographs depot photographs. Speke depot was opened by Liverpool Corporation then in 1969 contol passed to MPTE, deregulation in 1986 saw Speke pass to the newly formed Merseybus company. In 1991 Speke closed down and vehicles were transfered to nearby Garston. In 1994 MTL's low cost Merseyrider unit moved into the dormant garage and on 26th Aug 1996 Garston closed for good and the operation was merged into Speke, becoming a proper Merseybus garage again. In Feb 2000 Arriva purchased MTL Trust Holdings Ltd and Speke became one of Arriva's biggest garages and in recent years the depot has expanded again taking land for an open air parking area at the side. Several vehicles were lined up for photographs to mark the date and the vehicles were very well received by depot staff. A nice touch was the destination display on 4100. A very big thanks to the lads at Arriva Speke (you know who you are) and fellow MTT members for making this day possible, cheers lads!

Old meets new! AEC Regent A267 meets its modern day counterpart Volvo B7/ Alexander, also delivered new to Speke garage some 49 years apart! These impressive vehicles represent part of Arriva's massive investment in new vehicles for the Merseyside fleet. This particular bus is route branded for the 86 'le bus' network of services.
